Day 6: Lucca
Princes & Towers with Trees

Enjoying a coffee at Hotel La Locanda, Volterra before heading off to Lucca.
We met our local guide, Elena. She had a quick wit and a sharp tongue. She pulls no punches and keeps no secret that Lucca is the best Tuscan town. She regaled us tales of princes, towers, and silk shops. Her vignettes revolved around rivalry and war especially highlighting those of nasty Pisa whose people "cannot even built towers that stand straight."
